Grilled Pork Tenderloin Marinade. If you are looking for some great tips for a pork tenderloin marinade let’s talk about something just a little different today. Asian style pork tenderloin; who knows, you might become a convert.
So many of our recipes which we use when we are dealing with a pork tenderloin marinade are nothing more than a bottle of Italian dressing And that is fine if you want to just go out and buy it instead of making it yourself. But making them is just so easy and it does not take any time at all.
I mean you would rather impress your friends when they ask, “how did you get such good flavor on this?” I am sure that you would like to just puff your chest out a little and say, “yeah, I made that.” Read: Pork Tenderloin Recipes
OK, OK, just a little different today, not your usual, typical BBQ marinade, but today, Asian style. This is
really, really good. For Asian style, here are what we want to remember: the basics.
- white wine, or rice wine,
- soy sauce
On those two ingredients, you are going to use both equal amounts. So if you are just doing one tenderloin then about 3 Tablespoons of each. If you are throwing a block party and are doing quite a bit, then you might do a cup – but remember, it would be a cup of each. Both are going to be equal amounts.
Now, sometimes, for a little bit of a different approach, you can add some Hoisin sauce. Now, this stuff is excellent; I call it Korean BBQ sauce. It is really good stuff. And if you choose to add this to the base, then it would be the same amount as the first two.
So now you have a good base to work with whether it is a couple of tablespoons each, or a half cup of each, or even a full cup of each. You get the point. Now we want to start building upon the base; we need some oil. And usually when you are talking Asian, then we are talking sesame oil. For that, use only half as much as the first ingredients. So if you are using three Tablespoons of the first two, then only add one Tablespoon of the sesame oil. It is a pretty strong flavored oil. Read also: Pork Sirloin Roast Recipes
Then lastly for this pork tenderloin marinade, you will always add the next couple of ingredients:
- grated ginger
You cannot have an Asian style marinade without these ingredients. And believe me, they are well worth it. I will add about two cloves of garlic and then for the ginger, it is strong so use it sparingly, or, according to your taste buds.
Now you have the makings for a very good Asian style pork tenderloin marinade. I would add a few red pepper flakes. Sometimes salt, but remember that soy sauce is salty by nature so be careful. Then you can always add some chopped up green onion, or regular onion to the marinade. And voila, you are done.
Take this marinade and put it over your pork tenderloin in your trusty zip-lock bag and put it in the fridge for quite a few hours, or even overnight. I believe that I have mentioned before that whenever I do this I always place the bag in a pan in case of leaks overnight.
The next day take it out of the fridge and pull out the pork tenderloin but save the pork tenderloin marinade. Dry off the pork tenderloin and you can cook or grill it however you want to. But the pork tenderloin marinade you can bring to a boil and boil it for a few minutes. Then you can use that to baste the meat as it cooks. This way it will stay moist and really get good flavor. I hope you enjoy that little bit of a different twist on a pork tenderloin marinade.
